Priyanka Gandhi Vadra Attacks UP Government Over Farmers Suicide

Mumbai: Congress general Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra lambasted on Uttar Pradesh government over issues being faced by farmers and questioned the efficacy of farm and loan waiver schemes.

She cited a media report that it was said around five farmers in Banda had committed suicide in Banda in Bundelkhand.

“Farmers grow crops, don’t get the price for it. Famine occurs, compensation is not given,” Priyanka Gandhi said in a tweet in Hindi.

In charge of the AIC (UP East) said, “In “Bundelkhand farmers are getting threat of confiscation every day. What type of agriculture policy and farmers are left with no option but to commit suicide.”
