Pak PM Imran Khan And US President Donald Trump Shake Hands Over Pak’s F-16 Fighter Jets

Mumbai: A few days after the meeting between President Donald Trump and Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, the United States on Pakistan’s decision to grant foreign military sales of US $ 125 million to support F-16 fighter jets Informed the Congress on Friday.

Defense Secretary Cooperation Agency said in a statement, “The State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to Pakistan for Technical Security Team (TST) in continued support of the F-16 program for an estimated cost of USD 125 million.”

The Pentagon gave the necessary certificate while informing Congress of this potential sale on Friday.
The decision was made in this regard by the State Department and for the first time in January 2018 after the security assistance given by Trump to Pakistan.

“For the implementation of this proposed sale, 60 contractual representatives of Pakistan will need to assist in monitoring the operation as part of the Peace Drive F-16 program,” it further said.

According to the statement, Pakistan had requested the continuation of other related elements of logistic support to assist in the monitoring of technical assistance services – U.S. government and contractor technical and logistic support services – and in support of the Pakistan Peace Campaign Advanced F. -16 programs.

In its notification, the Pentagon claimed that the proposed sale of this support would not change the basic military balance in the area. The proposed sale will support the US foreign policy and national security by protecting American technology through continuous presence of US personnel, which provides 24×7 ultimate-usage surveillance.
