Pune Woman Kills Mother-In-Law, Hides Her Body With Husband’s Help

Mumbai: Pune police said on Monday that a 22-year-old woman allegedly strangled her mother-in-law with a blouse and later tried to hide the body in a sack with the help of her husband.

The incident occurred on May 21 at a housing society in Talegaon Dabhade, about 40 km from the city headquarters, and a few days later some neighbours saw the accused couple trying to get rid of the sack, an official said told to PTI.

“Pooja Shinde (22) and Milind Shinde (29) have been arrested on charges of murder and destruction of evidence. The victim has been identified as Baby Shinde. There was a fight between Pooja and the victim on May 21 when the two were alone in the house. She strangled Baby, stuffed the body in a gunny sack and hid it on the terrace,” said Senior Inspector Bhaskar Jadhav of Talegaon Dabhade police station.

He said that the sack started to stink and when neighbours suspected Pooja and Milind tried to locate the sack in the dense forest on 23 May.

“Some neighbours reported to the police. We found CCTV footage in the vicinity, with the couple trying to get rid of the sack. Further investigation into the incident is underway,” he said.
