‘Rs 1 Crore For Covid-19 Warriors If They Die’: Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal

Mumbai: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced Rs 1 crore for the families of those health workers who die while handling patients with coronavirus disease.

He said that it would be a mark of ‘honour’ for his service.

According to news agency ANI, Arvind Kejriwal said, “If someone loses his life while serving Kovid-19 patients, be it sanitation workers, doctors or nurses, their family will be given Rs 1 crore for their service. ”

“Whether they are from private or government sector doesn’t matter,” Kejriwal said.

The announcement by Arvind Kejriwal comes days after Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman gave a special insurance cover of Rs 50 lakh to doctors, nurses, paramedics, technicians and other health care professionals involved in the care of Kovid-19 patients.

Uttarakhand has also announced life insurance for thousands of government employees in the state, who are in the front line in the fight against Kovid-19 epidemic in the state.

120 Kovid-19 patients have been reported in the national capital and till date, two people have died due to the disease.
