RTI Reports States Navjot Singh Sidhu Spent Govt Money In 2018 For His Pakistan Trip, Wife Denies

Mumbai: Congress senior leader Navjot Singh Sidhu has found himself in trouble as RTI has revealed that the out of favor Congress leader spent state money during his trip to Pakistan.

An RTI plea has revealed that although Sidhu had claimed that he had gone on a personal visit to Pakistan during Prime Minister Imran Khan’s 2018 swearing-in ceremony, he allegedly claimed the money spent on the trip.

However, his wife Navjot Kaur Sidhu outrightly denied the claims and said that he had spent money from his own pocket for the trip, rubbishing the claims by the RTI report.

“He went on a personal trip and spent his own money. All these allegations are baseless, ”she said.

On the other hand, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Manjit Singh Sirsa from Punjab said that it is a shame that Navjot Singh Sidhu lied to the country and spent money from the government treasury.

“It has been revealed in RTI that Sidhu used the state money for his expenses in Pakistan during the swearing-in ceremony of Imran Khan. They should feel ashamed for lying to the nation and spending India’s money in Pakistan at Imran Khan’s oath ceremony, ”said Sirsa.

The RTI response also showed a breakdown of the expense chart.
