Saina, Sindhu, Srikanth Seeks Victory In French Open

Mumbai : PV Sindhu, Kidambi Srikanth and Saina Nehwal, the Indian badminton and defending champion’s stars will be witnessing the first BWF title of the year on Tuesday at the French Opens.

On Sunday, World’s number 10th Saina who worked hard to reach the Denmark Open final before losing to Nemesis and top-ranked Tai Tzu Ying, even the semi-finalist Srikanth of the same event, had a very little time to retrieve after a stressful last week.

Sindhu world number three will be a fresher, having made an unforeseen first round exit in Odense.

Other than Srikanth, the other Indians in the men singles draw are B Sai, Praneeth and Sameer Verma, Verma lost a marathon affray against Srikanth in the quarterfinals of Denmark open.

Ashwini Ponnappa will be playing alongside with Satwiksairaj Rankireddy will be playingonly mixed doubles this week.

Tai Tzu Ying and Kento Momota will be title favourites again, who won in Denmark Open.

The women field includes Tai Tzu, Saina, Sindhu and Carolina Marin while Momota could be challenged by the lines of Srikanth, Chen Long, Son Wan Ho, Viktor Axelsen and Shi Yuqi.

The rankings of the champions include Srikanth, where he is on world number 22 Wong Wing Ki Vincent in the first round while Saina and Sindhu are on 37th rank where they will take on Saena Kawakami and Beiwen Zhang on 11th ranked respectively.

Zhang had beaten Sindhu last week.
