Sania Mirza Slams TV Ads Hyping The Indo-Pak World Cup Match

Mumbai: Tennis player Sania Mirza lambasted saying “cringeworthy” TV advertisements hyping the much-awaited World Cup match between India and Pakistan.

In the conflict between the arch-rivals, the ad war has put disgusting advertisements with TV channels of both countries. Pakistan’s Jazz TV has prepared an advertisement, in which there is a character who appears to be imitating the Indian Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, which was captured by the Pakistani army one day after the Balakot Avenue.

The 33-second ad shows a model in Blue India’s jersey, which sports the trademark of Mustang’s moustache. According to the questions asked on Indian strategy for the match, he repeats the viral comments of congratulations, “I am sorry, I am not going to tell you this”.

Meanwhile, India’s Star TV is running an advertisement, where an Indian supporter describes himself as “Abbu” (Pakistan) of Pakistan, in which the World Cup mentions India’s supremacy over its rivals.

“Cringeworthy ads on both sides of the border, seriously guys, you don’t need to ‘hype up’ or market the match anymore especially with rubbish! it has enough attention already! It’s only cricket for God sake, and if you think it’s any more than that then get a grip or get a life !!,” Sania wrote on her twitter handle.
