Surprising PM Hasn’t Spoken On Lakhimpur Kheri Violence: Shiv Sena

Mumbai: Shiv Sena took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s silence on Lakhimpur Kheri violence that claimed eight lives and said he gets emotional on many issues but it is surprising how he has spoken on Sunday’s incident so far.

Opposition leaders have attacked the Yogi Adityanath government of the state over the death of eight people, including four farmers, in the Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday. Also Read: Lakhimpur Kheri Incident Reflects The Mentality Of The Central Government: Bhupesh Baghel

Violence broke out during protests against the anti-agriculture law on Sunday ahead of Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya’s visit to Lakhimpur Kheri, in which four farmers and four others lost their lives.

The incident sparked widespread outrage across the country and several opposition leaders decided to visit the violence-hit district to meet the victims of the conflict.

Amid huge backlash, the Uttar Pradesh government on Monday announced that a retired high court judge will probe the matter and Rs 45 lakh compensation will be given to the families of the four farmers killed in the incident.
