Take Strict Action Against People Doing Black Marketing Of Commodities During Lockdown Period: MHA

Mumbai: Keeping in view the increasing cases of coronavirus in the country, the Union Home Ministry said that Union Home Minister Amit Shah has directed the authorities to take appropriate steps in coordination with state governments to prevent hoarding and black marketing of commodities during the 21-day lockdown in the country.

As per the update of the Ministry of Home Affairs, instructions were issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs Amit Shah after a detailed review of the essential items and implementation of the lockdown.

Addressing a press conference, MHA Joint Secretary Punya Salila Srivastava said that the Home Minister has directed the officials to take prompt and hard action against those involved in hoarding and black marketing of goods during the locking period.

He also said that the central government is closely monitoring the movement of pharmaceuticals along with other essentials across the country.

“The status of essential goods and services is by and large satisfactory. Home Minister did a detailed review of the status of essential commodities and lockdown measures, he gave directions to take appropriate measures and ensure hoarding and black marketing is not done,” she said.
