Mumbai: On Thursday evening two robbers were caught by the residents when they tried to flee after snatching the gold chain of a woman at Vengal in Tiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu.
In an inquiry, it was revealed that the two had gone on a Chain-Snatching spree targeting lonely women walking on the road.
According to the police the two were identified as Boobalan and Rajkumar. They were the residents of SIDCO Nagar in Villivakkam. They had earlier snatched the gold chains of two women in Mutha Pudupet and Vengal.
They were caught red-handed in their third attempt.
On Thursday evening, the duo snatched the gold chain of Gayathri, a resident of Velliyur near Vengal. Residents came to rescue her after hearing her screams. They nabbed the duo and thrashed them before handing them over the Vengal Police. The police registered the case against the duo and arrested them.
