Mumbai: On Friday, a woman killed her husband by crushing his head with a grinding stone on Vengal in Tiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu, because she doubted her allegiance.
The victim has been identified as Velu (45), a construction worker. The woman, Gnanammal (40), often quarrelled with Velu as she suspected that he had illicit relationships with some women working with him.
On Thursday night, Gnanammal quarrelled with Velu. As the quarrel continued, he beat her up. Later, they went to sleep. She woke up in the early hours of Friday and decided to murder her husband. She took a grinding stone and threw it on her husband’s head, who was sleeping, and consequently murdered him.
The couple’s son and daughter woke up in the morning and saw Velu’s dead body. Neighbours rushed to the house after hearing the children’s cries and alerted police about the incident.
The Vengal Police registered a murder case against Gnanammal and arrested her.
