Uddhav Fires Sena Leaders For ‘Anti-Party’ Acts, Maha CM Adds Them To His Faction

Mumbai: Former Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray on Monday sacked several Shiv Sena leaders, including former state minister Ramdas Kadam and senior party leader Anandrao Vithoba Adsul for anti-party activities

However, both the leaders were immediately chosen by the current Chief Minister of the state Eknath Shinde, who has claimed that his faction is the “real” Shiv Sena.

Thackeray had on Saturday sacked former state minister Vijay Shivtare from the party and terminated his primary membership citing anti-party activities.

Meanwhile, in a setback to the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena, Ramdas Kadam on Monday resigned claiming that he was constantly “insulted” while Thackeray was always busy while being the chief minister.

Kadam wrote a letter to Thackeray, who heads Shiv Sena, tendering his resignation as “Shiv Sena leader”.

In his letter, Kadam expressed his anguish over the post-2019 alliance between Shiv Sena, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Congress, which he called a betrayal of the views of the late Bal Thackeray, the founder of Shiv Sena.

Last month, Shiv Sena MLA Eknath Shinde along with 39 MLAs had revolted against the party. Shinde took oath as Chief Minister on June 30 and Devendra Fadnavis of BJP took oath as Deputy Chief Minister.

Ever since he was appointed as the new Chief Minister of Maharashtra, several Shiv Sena leaders have joined the Shinde camp.
