UK Citizens Of Pakistan Origin March Protest At Indian High Commission, Turns Into Violent

Mumbai:  In order to repeal Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir and protest against India’s move with solidarity with Kashmiris, UK citizens of Pakistan origin marched in Britain’s capital city on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the protests turned violent as many people threw eggs at the Indian High Commission building (IHC) building, smashing windows and causing chaos on the streets of London.

The ‘Large Kashmir Freedom March’ was organized by a large number of British Kashmiri groups, who marched from Parliament Square down Downing Street to the High Commission Building.

Some Labor MPs from Britain also joined the protest. Ans slogans like ‘Stop in Kashmir’, ‘End the siege’, ‘We want freedom’ etc were raised by the crowd.

“Another violent protest outside the Indian High Commission in London today, 3 September 2019. Damage caused to the premises,” the Indian Mission in London tweeted.

Condemning the protest, London Mayor Sadiq Khan called it an “unacceptable behaviour”.

Khan said, “I utterly condemn this unacceptable behaviour and have raised this incident with @metpoliceuk to take action.”

In another protest on 15 August, people of Indian and Indian origin gathered outside the Indian High Commission in London to celebrate India’s 73rd Independence Day and abused eggs and bottles of water by Pakistan-sponsored protesters Gaya, which included separatists Sikhs.
