IT Sectors Are Improving In India And We Are Achieving Success In Space Sector: PM Narendra Modi In Russia

Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his tour to Russia said that the Indo-Russian partnership extended beyond the framework of military and technical cooperation, as revealed in the extended assistance by Moscow to train Indian astronauts for the Gaganyaan project.

“Information technologies are developing well in India and we are achieving success in the space sector. Now, as we are cultivating the Gaganyaan project (” Sky Vehicle “- India’s first manned spacecraft), Russia Will help us train our astronauts. This cooperation is not just limited to military and technical and related fields. It goes beyond this framework.”

He also said that both the countries (India-Russia) should take advantage of low production cost in India to produce military equipment under joint venture framework at cheaper rates for the third-world nations.

“Today, provided technologies are transferred, production of military equipment in India can become cheaper. And we will be able to supply these weapons to third countries at a much lower price. Modi and Russia need to take advantage of this opportunity,” Modi said in an interview to TASS.

India and Russia are expected to sign several agreements in the fields of defense, trade, investment, industrial cooperation, energy and connectivity corridors at the 20th annual summit between the two countries.

The Prime Minister arrived in Russia’s far-eastern city of Vladivostok earlier today.
