UP Govt Bans Manufacture, Sale Of Pan Masala To Prevent Spread Of Coronavirus

Mumbai: The Uttar Pradesh government on Wednesday banned the manufacture, distribution and sale of pan masala to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Food Safety Commissioner Ministhy S said in an order issued here, “Manufacturing, sale and storage of pan masala is being banned in the state till further orders.”

“Spitting pan masala can help in spreading Covid-19,” the order said.

At least 35 people in Uttar Pradesh, including a foreign national, have been confirmed positive for coronavirus.
Remarkably, 11 people have been treated and discharged from hospitals and no casualties have been reported in the state.

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Affairs, the number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in the country rose to 562 on Wednesday.
