UP Will Soon Be Known As Most Modern State With Next-Generation Infra: PM

Mumbai: PM Narendra Modi on Saturday, after laying the foundation stone of Ganga Expressway, said Uttar Pradesh will soon be identified as the “most modern state”, with the next-generation infrastructure being built by the double-engine government.

Addressing the program, the Prime Minister said, “Maa Ganga is the source of all happiness and prosperity. Mother Ganga gives all happiness and removes all sorrows. Similarly, Ganga Expressway will also open new doors for the prosperity of Uttar Pradesh. New expressways, airports and railway lines will prove to be boons for the people of the state. When the whole of Uttar Pradesh grows together, the nation progresses. Therefore, the focus of the ‘double engine’ government is on the development of Uttar Pradesh.”

Attacking the previous governments of Uttar Pradesh, PM Modi said, “Remember the situation of five years ago. Except in some areas of the state, there was no electricity in other cities and villages. But today the money of Uttar Pradesh is being invested in the development of the state. The modern infrastructure that is being created in Uttar Pradesh today shows how the resources are used properly.”

“The day is not far when UP will be recognized as the most modern state with next-generation infrastructure. The network of expressways in UP, the new airports being built, new rail routes being laid down are bringing several blessings to people of UP simultaneously,” PM Modi said.

He said the “double engine” government not only gave about 80 lakh free electricity connections in Uttar Pradesh but every district is being given much more electricity than before. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya were also present at the inauguration event.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the expressway is behind the Prime Minister’s vision to provide fast-paced connectivity across the country. The 594 km long six-lane expressway will be built at a cost of over Rs 36,200 crore.

Starting from near Bijauli village of Meerut, this expressway will go to Judapur Dandu village of Prayagraj. It will pass through Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh and Prayagraj.

The Ganga Expressway was approved on November 26, 2020. This expressway will be completed by 2024. Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh are slated for early next year.
