Very Difficult For MS Dhoni To Play T20 World Cup: Madan Lal

Mumbai: Rumours have been rifited again over wicketkeeper-batsman MS Dhoni’s retirement as he has been dropped from BCCI annual contract upon its renewal on Thursday.

The board had announced annual player contracts for Team India (Senior Men) for the period from October 2019 to September 2020 in which Dhoni’s name was missing from all 4 grades.

Meanwhile, Former India cricketer Madan told that after the BCCI decision, chances of Dhoni making it to the T20 World Cup later this year has are very slim.

Speaking to India Today, Madan Lal said, “I think it’s going to be very difficult for him to go to the T20 World Cup. 1% chance I would say. He is not even playing domestic cricket and playing only IPL. The reason why they didn’t give the contract is not playing cricket.”

Dhoni has been self-imposed from the game after he was eliminated from India in the Cricket World Cup 2019 in the semi-final stage. Although rumors about his uncertain future and possible retirement still continue in every round, the future of the legendary cricketer in the game is yet to be confirmed by either Dhoni or the BCCI.

The BCCI released the list of centrally contracted players on Thursday for the period from October 2019 to September 2020. With Dhoni not included in the list, his future will come under serious speculation later.
A + category players will get Rs 7 crore, A category players will get Rs 5 crore, while B and C category players will get Rs 3 crore respectively.

A+ category: Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah.

A category: Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Chesteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, KL Rahul, Shikhar Dhawan, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma, Kuldeep Yadav, Rishabh Pant.

B category: Wriddhiman Saha, Umesh Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Hardik Pandya, Mayank Agarwal.

C category: Kedar Jadhav, Navdeep Saini, Deepak Chahar, Manish Pandey, Hanuma Vihari, Shardul Thakur, Shreyas Iyer, and Washington Sundar.
