We Are In Touch With Pakistan For Kulbhushan Jhadav Through Diplomatic Channels

Mumbai: Amid tensions between both the countries have already raised meanwhile, India had sought “immediate, effective and unhindered” consular access to Kulbhushan Jadhav and was in touch with Pakistan through diplomatic channels.

“We are in touch with the Pakistani side through diplomatic channels. You are aware that based on the judgment of the International Court of Justice we have asked for immediate, effective and unhindered access. Let us see the kind of response we receive from the Pakistani side,” External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said in response to a query.

India had moved ICJ after Jadhav, a retired Navy officer, was sentenced to death by a Pakistani military court.

Kumar said there is some communication going back and forth through diplomatic channels.

Responding to a question on Pakistan Railway Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed’s remarks about the possibility of war between India and Pakistan, Kumar said many statements had come from the neighboring country.

“The objective is to create a situation that creates the impression that something is happening. But not much is happening between India and Pakistan. They have taken a lot of unilateral steps. We have not taken any major steps. Have to understand what to do. Design. They want to take the situation to a level that the world thinks something is happening, the statements are part of that process, “he said.
