1,455 New COVID19 Cases, 19 More Deaths Reported In Uttar Pradesh

Mumbai: Officials said that the COVID-19 case count of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday increased to 5,14,270 with 1,455 fresh infections, while the death toll rose to 7,412 with 19 more deaths.

He said that the number of active cases in the state is 22,166.

Additional Chief Secretary, Health, Amit Mohan Prasad told reporters, “In the last 24 hours, 1,455 new cases have been registered in the state, while 1,338 people have been discharged.”

“There are 22,166 active cases in the state and the number of people recovering from infections is 4,84,692,” he said.

Nineteen more people succumbed to the virus, causing 7,412 deaths.

The state has a recovery rate of 94.24 percent, Prasad said, adding that with a fresh wave of COVID-19 in Delhi, the health department appeals to the people of the state to be vigilant.

87,478 samples were tested on Monday. He said that the total number of samples tested so far is more than 1.72 crore.

Among those infected with the virus, 13.61 percent are aged between 0–20, 47.22 percent in the age group 21–40, 29.2 percent in the 41–60 age group, and more than 9.97 percent. 60, Prasad said.
