Mumbai: In a shocking incident, 15-year-old girl delivers a baby girl, after she was raped by two men over a period of one year.
The girl, who was spotted by a social worker near Kurla railway station, was brought to the Nagpada police station three days ago. Sexual assault was detected in her medical examination. The reports also stated that her body had burned marks caused by cigarettes.
Police said after her mother’s death the girl’s father had remarried. After he passed away, the stepmother brought her son, the victim, who was then 10, to Mumbai from West Bengal. She took up a place in Kamathipura with the help of a pimp.
Police said a few years later, the pimp began sexually assaulting the girl and her stepmom ignored her complaints. When her pregnancy became visible, she was not allowed to stay in the room. “She left the place and started wandering in the city. On spotting her near Kurla station, a social worker suspended something fishy and alerted to the police. The cops and social worker took her to the Nagpada police station where she narrated the entire story,” said an officer.
FIR has been lodged against the pimp and tell the owner of the room where she lived and who is alleged to have raped her too.
Senior inspector Sanjay Bagwe said, “ We have registered a case of rape against two persons and investigation is under process. The number of accused may go up. We are trying to collect evidence. The victim has delivered a baby girl and is in the hospital.”
The police are also verifying the role of the victim’s stepbrother in the case. “We will take help of forensic experts to establish the child’s paternity,” said an officer.
