25-Yr-Old Man Held For Allegedly Raping, Impregnating 13-Yr-Old Girl In Mumbai

Mumbai: A 25-year-old man was arrested by the police in Mumbai for allegedly raping and impregnating a 13-year-old girl. Also Read: 19-Year-Old Youth Arrested For Raping 7-Year-Old Niece In Hyderabad

The complaint was registered against the accused at the Antop Hill Police Station after the girl’s parents were informed by a doctor that she is five months pregnant, police said. Also Read: Prostitution Racket Busted In Mumbai; 3 Arrested, Minor Detained

The incident came to light when the girl’s stomach ached, after which the victim’s relatives reached the nearest hospital where the doctor told her that the girl was five months pregnant.

“When the accused came to know about this, he immediately fled from the spot. We started an investigation and arrested him from the Mira Road area,” the police said.

He will be produced in court today. Police have registered a case under section 376 of the Indian Penal Code and POCSO Act.
