932 People Die From Coronavirus In Spain In A Day, Cases Rise By 7,472

Mumbai: The Health Ministry said on Friday that the death of Spain’s coronavirus increased from 932 to a total of 10,935. The ministry said the number of registered cases raised to 117,710 on Friday up from 110,238 on Thursday

Spain has the world’s second-highest tally of deaths from COVID-19 after Italy.

Spain has been under lockdown since March 14, and until this week only employees in essential areas are allowed to work and move.

Data showed on Thursday that Spain has shed an unprecedented 900,000 jobs since the ban began, with temporary layoffs affecting at least 620,000 jobs.

About 80,000 workers are ill with coronavirus, while 170,000 more are on sick leave, separated after exposure to an infected person.

Around the globe, the number of coronavirus deaths topped 53,000 as another grim milestone was reached with more than one million confirmed infections.
