A New Crisis Can Come If We Become Lax: PM Modi Warns States On COVID Vaccination

Modi appreciated the efforts of the health care workers to provide vaccination to remote locations and achieve the landmark of 1 billion administration

Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday conducted a review meeting with the districts where COVID vaccination could pick the pace and said that they must find new solutions and innovative methods to increase vaccination.

Interacting in the meeting, PM Modi said, “In this biggest pandemic in 100 years, the nation faced several challenges. A significant thing in the nation’s fight against Corona was that we found out new solutions, used innovative methods. You too will have to work more on innovative methods to increase vaccination in your areas.”

Giving an example of states who have administered 100% first dose, PM Modi said that the districts also need to find ways to go ahead of challenges.

“You’ll have to remember that the states that have achieved the goal of administering 100% first dose of vaccine, also faced different challenges in many areas. There were challenges of geographical situation, resources but these districts overcame those challenges to go ahead,” PM said.

PM Modi also said that one must never underestimate disease thinking they have a strong immune system or they lead a healthy lifestyle so they won’t get infected as the virus doesn’t discriminate. So there should not be even a slight laxity.

Modi also appreciated the efforts of the health care workers to provide vaccination to remote locations and achieve the landmark of 1 billion administration.

“Progress made so far is due to your hard work. Every member of admin, ASHA workers worked a lot, walked for miles & took vaccination to remote locations. But if we become lax after 1 billion, a new crisis can come,” PM Modi said.

He added, “They say one must never underestimate disease and enemies. They have to be fought against till the very end. So, I would want that we should not bring even a slight laxity.”
