Ahmedabad: Clashes Between Migrants And Police, 2 Personnel Injured

Mumbai: A clash took place between police and migrants in Ahmedabad, Gujarat on Monday. As the migrants resorted to pelting stones at the police, many of them were detained.

The clash took place in Ahmedabad’s Vastrapur area when migrants gathered in hundreds and started pelting stones at police and passer-bys. The migrants were demanding to be sent back to their native states as the lockdown extended for the fourth time in the country.

“When Police stopped them they pelted stones, went to Vastrapur & vandalized 2 Police vehicles. They also vandalized the office at a construction site. 250 people have been rounded up. Action will be taken against culprits. Situation under control,” Pravin Mal DCP (Zone-1) told  ANI.

A similar incident took place between migrants and cops in the Surat district on 9th May, when the workers were demanding to be sent back home.
