Amit Shah Praises Manu Bhaker For India’s First Gold Medal In 10 Metres Air Pistol Event

Mumbai: Manu Bhaker is an Indian professional sport shooter. She represented India at the 2018 ISSF World Cup and won two gold medals. She is the youngest Indian to win a gold medal at the ISSF World Cup.
Recently she fired her way to the gold medal with a junior world record in the women’s 10m air pistol event of the World Cup Finals here on Thursday.

On this great achievement, Union Minister Amit Shah appreciates her through the medium of twitter. He said her ‘dedication’ and ‘ consistency’ towards the game is inspiring and gives the best wishes for further bright future.

The 10-metre air pistol is an Olympic shooting event governed by the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF).

The 17-year-old Bhaker shot 244.7 to claim the top prize in the prestigious season-ending tournament. Her compatriot, Yashaswini Singh Deswal finished sixth in the final of the event.

In the men’s 10m air pistol event, Abhishek Verma and Saurabh Chaudhary qualified for the final.
