Amit Shah Should Resign, SC Should Probe PM Modi: Rahul On ‘Pegasus’ Issue

Mumbai: Attacking the Centre, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday said Pegasus spyware is an Israeli classified weapon used by the government against the country’s institutions.

Rahul Gandhi said, “Pegasus is classified as a weapon by the State of Israel and that weapon should be used against terrorists. The Prime Minister and Home Minister have used it against the Indian state and our institutions.”

“They have used it politically… They have used it in Karnataka. They have used it to stall the investigation. They have used it against the Supreme Court… They have used it against all the institutions in this country. Used against it. The only word for it is against it. There is no other word for it.”

“My phone was tapped, but it is not about my privacy but about the people of India. This is an attack against the voice of the people. A judicial inquiry monitored by the Supreme Court should be held against the PM as none other than the PM and the HM could have authorised this,” he added.

He reiterated his earlier allegations of corruption in the Rafale fighter jet deal with France.

“I have said there was gross theft in the Rafale deal, but none of you supported me. The PM is himself responsible for this corruption. The PM might think he can buy everybody, but not everyone can actually be bought,” Gandhi said.

“This has to be investigated and the Home Minister has to resign,” he concluded.
