Aurangabad: A Freight Train Ran Over Migrants, 14 Deaths Reported

Mumbai: While the country is witnessing a tough phase, the plight of the poor and the labourers seem to be everlasting. A freight train on Friday ran over Migrant labourers early morning 6:30 am in Aurangabad, Maharashtra.

The labourers were walking to Chattisgarh amidst nationwide lockdown when the incident occurred at the Aurangabad-Jalna railway line.

The migrants fell asleep on the railway track due to prolonged exhaustion from walking for long days, according to the PTI news agency.

14 of the migrants are reported dead leaving 5 of them injured and admitted to the Aurangabad Civil hospital. Following the incident several political leaders expressed their concerns through tweets.

The states were allowed to Arrange special trains for the stranded migrants to send them back home by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).

Although unable to gain from the government authority several of them set forth to walking to their native places.
