Aurangabad Reports 179 New COVID19 Cases, State Tally Rose To 11,420

Mumbai: The number of COVID-19 cases in Aurangabad reached 11,420, with more than 179 people testing positive for the disease on Tuesday, an official said.

The new cases include 123 from the city, 46 from rural parts of the district, and 10 from various entry points in Aurangabad.

On Monday, a total of 438 cases were reported – 51 by noon and 387 later in the day.

The official said that 400 deaths have so far occurred due to the disease in the district. 

As of now, there are 4,720 active cases while 6,300 patients have been discharged after recovery, he said.

Meanwhile, India recorded 37,148 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, pushing its tally to 11,55,191, while the total number of recoveries increased to 7,24,577, according to Union health ministry data on Tuesday.

The death toll due to the disease rose to 28,084 with 587 fatalities reported in a day, the data updated at 8 am showed.
