Bengaluru Violence: 110 People Arrested For Arson, Stone-Pelting, And Assault On Police

Mumbai: The Bangalore Police has arrested 110 people in a case of violence on “abusive” social media posts in the Karnataka capital. 

The nephew of Congress MLA Akhand Srinivas Murthy is also in custody for sharing the post on social media, which led to violence in the city on Tuesday night.

“With regard to incidents in DJ Halli, accused Naveen arrested for posting derogatory posts.. also total 110 accused arrested for arson, stone-pelting, and assault on police. APPEAL TO ALL TO COOPERATE WITH POLICE TO MAINTAIN PEACE,” tweeted the Bengaluru Police Commissioner.

Meanwhile, Bengaluru Police Commissioner Kamal Pant urged everyone to cooperate with the force to maintain peace.

According to police, two persons died and around 60 police personnel were injured during the clashes.

Curfew imposed in DJ Holi and KG Halli Police Station.
