Centre To Open Its Underutilised ESIC Hospital For Common People

Mumbai : In a another development the union government has come up with the decision to allow non-Insured Person (IPs) to get benefited of medical services from the underutilised ESIC hospitals after paying nominal user charges.

On its 176th meeting which was held yesterday the ESI Corporation decided to allow IPs to get available medical services from its underutilised ESIC hospital fter leavying ges at a the user charges at subsidised cost of Rs 10 for OPD construction and at 25 % of CGHS package rates for admitted patients.

“It will immensely help common people get the quality medical care at very low cost. Besides, it will ensure full utilisationof resources of hospital for people cause” Union Ministry stated in a press release.

Meanwhile the recruitment process has already begun in ESIC for various categories like Security Officer, Insurance Medical Officer Grade-ll, Junior Engineers, Teaching Faculty, Paramedical etc. ESIC has also approved hiring of full-time contractual specialist and super specialist in the department of Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, Gynaecology, Orthopedics and many more.

Looking forward at the raise in National Floor Level Minimum Wages to Rs 176, in meeting it was decided that to enhance the exemption limit for payment of employees share of the contribution from Rs 137 to Rs 176.
