Coronavirus: Pakistan-Bangladesh ODI, Test postponed

Mumbai: In view of the outbreak of the Coronavirus epidemic, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Monday decided to postpone their upcoming ODI and Test series.

The two boards will now work together to identify a future opportunity to fulfil the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) commitment. The first Test of the series was played in Rawalpindi from 7–10 February, which Pakistan won by an innings and 44 runs.

“The Bangladesh men’s cricket team was scheduled to arrive in Karachi on April 29 for a one-day match and on April 5-9 for the second WTC,” the PCB said in a statement.

The PCB has also postponed the Pakistan Cup one-day tournament indefinitely, which was to begin on March 25.

However, the PSL semi-finals and finals will be scheduled behind closed doors. Multan Sultans will face former champion Peshawar Jalmi in the PSL semi-finals, while Lahore Qalandars will take on Multan Sultans in Lahore on 17 March.
