CR Senior Clerk Held For Forging Medical Certificates To Get Tickets In VVIP Quota

Mumbai: The MRA Marg police have arrested a senior clerk with Central Railways for allegedly forging medical certificate forms to get tickets in VVIP quotas.

The case came to light when a railway officer detected some anomalies in a passenger’s ticket. When the man was questioned, he revealed the name of one Tulasi Prajapati, who turned out to be a senior clerk in the personnel department of the Central Railways.

“We had lodged the complaint two months ago when we were scrutinising a VVIP reservation. We are now checking if Prajapati had forged MLAs and ministers’ letter pads to get reservations,” said a railway official.

“Prajapati had forged the medical certificate form to get confirmed tickets,” said a police official from MRA Marg police station. “We suspect he must have done this earlier as well,” the official added. He has been remanded to police custody for three days.

“We are investigating the case thoroughly as we suspect it’s a big racket,” said the police official.
