CSK Beats KXIP By 22 Runs, Registered Top Slot At Point Table

Mumbai: Chennai Super Kings after winning the toss and choosing to bat first, set up a target of 161 which proved to be enough of for the Super Kings to defend.

At the Chennai ground, Faf du Plessis showed his classy batting with a well-defined half century (54) off 38 deliveries, contributing Ms Dhoni with 37 runs at the strike rate of 160 later on.

Kings XI Punjab headed off well behind the target with Rahul and Sarfaraz both scoring half-centuries but couldn’t convert them into victories for their team.

Kuggeleijn sent KL Rahul out to the pavilion whereas Harbhajan Singh taking the crucial wicket of Chris Gayle followed by Mayank Agrawal by the start itself. Later at the last over, Kuggeleijn took the wicket of Sarfaraz and brought up the victory for CSK.

The Super Kings proved itself to be a defending champion after defending 161 runs at the Chennai ground, winning by 22 runs against KXIP.

CSK now heads up to the top of the points table with four wins to their side and Kings XI Punjab at the fourth position with three wins.
