To Avoid The Risk Of Debris For Global Space Assets, India Chose Very Little For The A-SAT Test: DRDO

Mumbai: DRDO President Jee Satish Reddy on Saturday said that India selected less than 300 km of class during mission power for “power performance” and to avoid the danger of debris.

A few days after NASA’s concern about the spread of debris from the Anti-Satellite Test (A-SAT) test conducted on 27th March, their comments came.

Reddy said, “Around 300 km of the class was selected for testing for capacity demonstration, and its aim was to avoid any global space property from the danger of debris.”

He said, “The debris made after the interception will rot in a few weeks.”

NASA had said on Tuesday that the Hit-to-Kill mission has called a “Satellite” of India “terrible thing” to build orbital debris of about 400 pieces.

India’s Foreign Ministry has also said that this trial was done in the lower atmosphere so that it can be ensured that there is no space debris.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has acknowledged the success of the A-set test as “an unprecedented achievement” which makes India a space power.
