Cyclone Asani To Recurve In Next 24 Hours; Rain, Strong Winds Likely In 3 States
Mumbai: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rain and strong winds in three states Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and West Bengal with the possibility of a recurrence of severe cyclonic storm ‘Aasani’ on Tuesday.
“It is very likely to move almost northwestwards by the night of May 10 and reach the west-central Bay of Bengal off north Andhra Pradesh coast and adjoining Odisha coast. Thereafter, it is very likely to turn north-northeastwards and move towards Northwest Bay of Bengal off North Andhra Pradesh and Odisha coasts. It is likely to weaken gradually into a Cyclonic Storm during the next the 24 hours,” the IMD said.
The Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rain with isolated heavy to very heavy at isolated places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and heavy to very heavy at isolated places over Coastal Odisha from this evening.
