Daily COVID Deaths In India Fall Below 1,000 After 75 Days; Daily Cases Dip To 46,148

Mumbai: As many as 979 deaths due to COVID-19 were reported in India in the last 24 hours. This is for the first time after 75 days that India has reported less than 1,000 daily COVID-19 deaths.

Further, the health ministry informed that India has reported 46,148 COVID19 cases in the last 24 hours.

With 58,578 recoveries in the last 24 hours, the daily recoveries surpassed the daily new cases for the 46th day in a row, dropping the active caseload to 5,72,994.

The national recovery rate is 96.80 per cent. The cumulative number of positive COVID-19 cases in the country is 3,02,79,331, which includes 2,93,09,607 recoveries and 3,96,730 deaths.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a total of 40,63,71,279 samples were tested till June 27, out of which 15,70,515 samples were tested on Sunday.

Under the country’s vaccination campaign, about 32.36 crore vaccine doses have been given so far. India has achieved another milestone in COVID-19 vaccination and has overtaken the United States in the number of total administered COVID vaccine doses.
