Danish Kaneria Seeks Pak Govt’s Help Over Ban, Says Inaction Will Prove Discrimination

Kaneria was found guilty of spot-fixing while playing for English club Essex

Mumbai: Cricketer Danish Kaneria on Friday accused the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the country’s government that they did not give them any help after being banned from the game.

He also said that if the government of Pakistan did not take action in relation to his position, the world would get a chance to prove that he was being discriminated against.

Kaneria was found guilty of spot-fixing while playing for English club Essex.

Kaneria also made it clear that the people of Pakistan did not discriminate against them and the situation needs to be handled by Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Twenty-nine-year-old Kaneria played 61 Tests for Pakistan and is the second Hindu to join the Pakistani cricket team after Anil Panipat.

Former fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar made a revelation about the treatment given to Danish Kaneria in Pakistan’s dressing room on Thursday. A video of Pakistani paceman Akhtar has gone viral on social media, in which he said that the players of the Pakistani team refused to have food with Kaneria simply because he was a Hindu.

Thirty-nine-year-old Kaneria had played 61 Tests for Pakistan and is the second Hindu to feature in the Pakistani cricket team after Anil Dalpat.
