Donald Trump Calls Jewish As Disloyal For Voting For Democrats

Mumbai: US President Donald Trump on Tuesday said that the Jewish Americans who vote for democrats either lack knowledge or show great disloyalty. A few years ago, when the democrats were in power US had withdrawn its troops from Israel for their hate towards the Jewish people.

Even the Democratic Muslim congresswomen Ilhan Omar of Minnesota and Rashida Tlaib of Michigan supported the boycott of the Jewish state for its treatment for Palestinians. Israel had barred both the democrats from the entry on the grounds of Israel as they supported the boycott against the country. It was reported that the US president himself asked the Jewish State to Barr the two.

“Five years ago, the concept of even talking about this — even three years ago — of cutting off aid to Israel because of two people that hate Israel and hate Jewish people — I can’t believe we’re even having this conversation. Where has the Democratic party going?” Trump said to the reporter in the oval office.

However, trump’s comments raised many Jewish eyes as his words sounded like a condemnation of Jewish. Many retaliated by saying, the president has no right to demand loyalty from any Jewish or any citizen. The CEO of the Anti-Defamation League, Jonathan Greenblatt, took to Twitter to express his discontent on such a comment by the president.

He tweeted. “It’s unclear who @POTUS is claiming Jews would be ‘disloyal’ to, but charges of disloyalty have long been used to attack Jews”

Jewish groups charged the president with anti-Semitism as he questioned the Jewish loyalty and alleged the Jewish community of dual allegiance. The presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders also took to the twitter and said, “I am a proud Jewish person and I have no concerns about voting Democratic” and further added that he would vote a Jewish man… Himself in the 2020 presidential election.

Executive Director for the Jewish Democratic Council of America Halie Soifer echoed the sentiment, saying that the Jew’s loyalty is used many times for the political means and the long run tradition of attacking Jew sentiments needs to stop, “It’s long overdue to stop using Jews as a political football and the president “has no right to tell Jewish Americans he knows what is best for us or to demand our loyalty…Trump needs a reality check — we live in a democracy and Jewish support for the @GOP has been halved in the past four years,” she tweeted.
