Fight Against Coronavirus Will Be Won Through Vaccine, Drugs: NITI Aayog Member Dr Paul
Mumbai: VK Paul, Member, NITI Aayog and Chairman, Empowered Group 1, said that the fight against coronaviruses would be won through vaccines and drugs as India’s Institute of Science and Technology and the pharma industry are very strong.
“The fight against coronovirus will be won through vaccines and drugs. Our National Institute of Science and Technology and the pharma industry are very strong. India’s known as the pharmacy of the world and vaccines made in India are being used and are known all over the world,” said Dr Paul while addressing a press conference here.
Highlighting India’s efforts on the development of drugs, vaccines and technologies for testing, Paul said: “We are very proud of our strong scientific base, strong pharmaceutical industry. All our scientific institutions are fighting against COVID-19 .”
According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India’s COVID-19 count reached 1,58,333 on Thursday, with 6,566 more coronovirus cases and 194 deaths in the last 24 hours.
The number of active coronavirus cases is 86,110, while 67,692 people have been recovered and one patient has survived. The death toll due to infection in the country has increased to 4,531.
