Mumbai: On Tuesday, an FIR registered against wrestler Narsingh Yadav who is serving in Maharashtra as an ACP. He was allegedly found campaigning for Congress.
Under section 129(2) of the Representation of the people act 1951, FIR was lodged. He was found campaigning for Sanjay Nirupam who is a Congress candidate from North West.
129 (2) section states that No Police force members should convince or endeavour to influence the voter for voting to any person in any manner for elections.
Yadav will now face departmental proceedings, said Police.
