Floods To Hit Kyushu Japan, 6 Lakh People Asked To Evacuate

Mumbai: As the torrential rains hit the southwestern part of Japan, the authorities have asked the people to evacuate the southwestern part of the country as the rivers in the region are overflowing. Around 6,70,000 people have asked to move from the place.

Saga, Fukuoka, and Nagasaki prefectures in Northern Kyushu has been issued the order to evacuate. NHK reported. As per the Wednesday’s reports total of three people died because of the floods in the Saga, Kyushu region.

The main railway station was flooded and many vehicles were found submerged. A number of landslides were also reported. One person is reported missing.

The Japan meteorological department had forecasted heavy rainfall in wide areas from western to northern Japan through Friday. Reported the Kyodo news.

Kyushu railway company has cancelled some services in the region especially in the three prefectures.

It’s not the first time Japan had to face the dangers of the floods. In 2018 due to the heavy downpours, the southwestern part of the country was totally washed off. As much as 225 people were confirmed dead while 15 were announced to be missing. Almost 1,243 mudslides were reported in the country. The industries were brought to a stand-still.
