Former Finance Minister P Chidambaram Arrested, Likely Be Produced In Rouse Avenue Court

Mumbai: Former finance minister Chidambaram who was arrested last night from his house after a lot of Drama is likely to be produced in Rouse Avenue court today.

P Chidambaram was arrested by the Central Bureau Of Investigation (CBI) over graft charges related to INX media case.

The CBI and Enforcement Directorate (ED) teams demolished the boundary wall of Chidambaram’s Jor Bagh residence soon after the senior Congress leader reached home after addressing the press at AICC headquarters.

Meanwhile, many Congress leaders staged a protest outside his house, where after an hour CBI accompanied by Delhi police arrested P Chidambaram.

According to ANI reports, he will most likely be produced in Rouse Avenue Court on Thursday morning, reported ANI. Reports said he would be produced before Special Judge Ajay Kumar Kuhar who hears cases pertaining to MLAs and MPs.

Chidambaram’s detention comes almost 48 hours after his bail plea was rejected. Both the ED and the CBI had issued lookout notices for the senior Congress leader.
