Govandi Corporate Detained By Police

Mumbai: In the afternoon, a group of men and women from the Govandi area of Sion assembled in the Collector’s office for discussing their issues. An aggravated citizen splashed ink on the collectors thus getting held by the police.

The meeting was held in a cramped room with 10-15 people, the police and the collector tried to accommodate themselves in. The meeting was held to discuss a wide range of topics right from the SMS app, to the companies having their factory outlets (chimneys) at a lower height than the government norm suggested.

According to reports, a woman questioned the officer about the stay order a factory had received. The woman claimed that the factory outlet- a chimney wasn’t at a proper height and that various diseases have become prevalent in the region because of it.

“Where’s the report? You have said you’ll report it further to the higher authorities. What happened to that?” The woman asked. As per the sources, the officer had never submitted any negative comment or complaint against the factory outlets of the region.

The officer avoided giving any direct answers.

The situation in the slums of Sion is pathetic. Diseases of various kind are thriving in the area. The factory outlet has only worsened the situation. Kids are battling with serious diseases like cancer since childhood and an average person’s life span is reducing day by day. According to a source if an average person is living up to the age of 50 in Sion then an average person in the other part of the city lives up to only 40 years.

The SMS app was another part of the story. According to people present in the office, they received comments on their Facebook pages and other apps that a person could never read without feeling disgusted. They had suffered harassment and their social safety was in trouble and it irked the people that no steps were taken in order to curb the situation.

The enraged crowd went in hysterics of anger as the officer kept on declining everything the group said. That’s when a man splashed ink on the officer. The police immediately came into action tackling the mob out of the office. The mob followed the police to the police station yelling, “SMS app band Karo,”
