“Happy Nauroz To All Kashmiri People,” Priyanka Gandhi Vadra

Mumbai: “Nauroz Mubarak to all my Kashmiri brothers and sisters,” Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra wishes Kashmiri people on Nauroz.

Nauroz or Navreh is religious festivals of the Brahmins of Kashmir have Rigvedic and Proto-Indo-Iranian roots. The Kashmiri Pandits share most of their festivals with other Hindu communities and some other peoples whose cultures are derived from the Proto-Indo-Iranian religion.

“Nauroz Mubarak to all my sisters and brothers, Despite my mother’s don’t forget to make the thali” message, I had no time to make my thali yesterday but came home after roadshow and found it placed on the dining table. How sweet mom is,” Vadra tweeted.

Kashmiri Pandits celebrate their New Year’s day on the first day of the bright half-month of Chaitra (March-April) and it is called Navaratri – this word is derived from the Sanskrit Nava version, whose literary meaning is ‘New Year’.

Meanwhile, Priyanka and her brother Rahul Gandhi are expected to address the rallies jointly in the western part of the state, along with UP west in-charge Jyotiraditya Scindia.
