Harshal Patel Becomes Most Expensive Indian Buy In IPL 2024 Auction So Far at ₹11.75 Crore

Mumbai: All-rounder Harshal Patel, who was the highest wicket-taker in IPL 2021, has been bought by PBKS for ₹11.75 crore in IPL 2024 auction. He has become the most expensive Indian buy in IPL 2024 auction so far.

He was bought by RCB in the IPL 2022 auction for ₹10.75 crore. Notably, he had a salary of ₹20 lakh in IPL 2021.

Harshal Patel, who had a base price of Rs 2 crore, got this big bid thanks to his outstanding T20 talents. Punjab Kings are a team in the Indian Premier League.

Patel played for (RCB) in the previous IPL season and demonstrated his skill by taking 111 wickets in 92 matches. His constant performance and ability to deliver under duress have earned him a high level of respect.

In addition to Patel, other important deals have occurred throughout the auction. Chennai Super Kings paid Rs 4 crore for Shardul Thakur, who had a basic price of Rs 2 crore.

Kolkata Knight Riders signed talented player KS Bharat with a base price of Rs 50 lakh. Chetan Sakariya, another promising talent, also went to KKR for his base price of Rs 50 lakh.

Umesh Yadav, a seasoned fast bowler, drew notice after being acquired by Gujarat Titans for a substantial sum of Rs 5.8 crore. This action demonstrates the team’s belief in Yadav’s ability to contribute to their success.

Lucknow Super Giants made a major investment when they paid Rs 6.4 crore for talented pacer Shivam Mavi. Mavi’s outstanding domestic performances have earned him this hefty contract, and the squad will be banking on him to make an immediate impact.

SRH paid Rs 1.6 crore for veteran left-arm pacer Jaydev Unadkat, more than three times his base price of Rs 50 lakh.

Uncapped Indians Sameer Rizvi and Shahrukh Khan were purchased for Rs 8.4 crore and Rs 7.4 crore, respectively, by Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans.

The IPL 2024 auction was undeniably intriguing, with teams deliberately bidding for individuals who can boost their rosters.
