Hindu Samaj Party Leader Kamlesh Tiwari Killed Over Offensive Comment On Prophet Muhammad’; 3 Held
Mumbai: Three people were detained in the Kamlesh Tiwari murder case following a joint operation by Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat police on Saturday.
The three people arrested have been identified as Maulana Mohsin Sheikh, Khurshid Ahmed Pathan and Faizan. All three were detained from Surat. Two more people were detained in the case and they are currently being questioned.
It is being told that it was a revenge killing in 2015 over Tiwari’s controversial remarks on Prophet Mohammad.
Giving information to the media about the latest developments, OP Singh, DGP of UP Police said, “In the preliminary inquiry, no criminal background of the three people who have been detained has yet been established. If needed, then we will take them in remand bring them UP and question them.”
“In the FIR, two people were named as conspirators – Maulana Anwarul Haque and Mufti Naeem Kazmi. Both of them have also been detained and are being interrogated. We are in Gujarat, Bijnor, Lucknow and other places. Will monitor who will come forward in the meantime. In the investigation, “UP DGP added.
He also said that Khurshid Pathan came up with the idea of eliminating Kamlesh Tiwari and Mohsin encouraged him, while Faizan was involved in buying the dessert box. OP Singh said, “Another man named Gaurav, who called Kamlesh from Surat and wanted to join his party, is also being investigated.”
OP Singh said, “It was a radical murder, these people were radicalized by the speech given in 2015 (Kamlesh Tiwari), but a lot can be revealed.”
