Hindustani Classic Musician Annapuna Devi Passed Away At 91

Mumbai : The most reowned Hindustani classic music figure Annapurna Devi passed away at 3.51am on Saturday. Padma Bhushan winner was suffering from the age related isssues for past few years says hospitals officials.

Born in Maihar, Madhya Pradesh in 1927, she was the youngest of the four children. Annapurna Devi was firstly trained in classical music with her father Ustad Baba, Allauddin Khan who helped establish the Senia-Maihar gharana.

Later on she married to reowned sitar maestro Ravi Shankar. She took her last breath at the age of 91 in Breach Candy hospital in Mumbai.
