“I Should Bat At Number 4 For KKR,” Andre Russell

Mumbai: Russell, after KKR lose to RCB, says that he thinks should bat higher in the order at around number 4.

KKR lost the match by 10 runs chasing the target of 214 set by the Virat Kohli led side. Kohli scored his fifth IPL century-100 mark knock off just 58 deliveries along with Moeen Ali who set a quick fire of 66 runs which led RCB to reach the big score of 213.

Despite Russell scoring 65 runs off just 25 deliveries, KKR couldn’t chase up the target and at the end lost with 10 runs at the Eden Gardens.

“If I am at the crease in the early part of the game, Kohli will bowl his best bowlers to get me out, and hence those bowlers will have fewer or will be bowl out. So I think me going early to bat would definitely be good for KKR,” Russell said.

Russell also said that KKR lost the match because of lack of urgency in the middle overs. Russell came to bat when the team needed 135 off 49.

“When you lose games like these it is a sweet and sour feeling. I think a four and a six could’ve gone our par. We lost the game at the middle overs. Even though we should’ve restricted RCB to less than 200, I think the ball was in our court, we lost it in the middle overs,” he added.

KKR will face Sunrisers who is on the fifth place on April 21st.
