ICC World Cup 2019: Australia Beats Afghanistan By 7 Wickets

Mumbai: Time for the second Match of the day after New Zealand easily clinched the match against Sri Lanka it’s time for Afghanistan to take on Australia.

Afghan skipper Gulbuddin Nayab tossed the coin and Aaron Finch’s head call was unsuccessful.

Afghanistan has opted to bat first, and all eyes will now be on opener Mohammad Shahzad and Hazratullah Zazai, who are two of the most exciting and explosive batters in this summer.

Aaron Finch says that he would have batted first, but he will come back soon to enroll.

Batting first Afghanistan didn’t get a good start as they lost some early wickets both the openers M Shahzad and H Zazai not even manage to score a single run.

It was a pretty good contribution by R Shah 43 off 60 balls and N Zardan 51 runs off 49 balls.

Rahmat and Gulbadin batted excellently for their stand of 83, and Rashid and Mujeeb ignited proceedings in their 39-run partnership, but the Aussies were potent today. With this Afghanistan managed to score only 207 runs in 38 overs.

Zampa was expensive, but predatory, taking 3/60, while the dangerous Cummins (3/30), alongside Starc (1/31) and Stoinis (2/37), all chipped in with vital wickets.

It would be small total for the team like Australia, as they proved it right they had 96 runs partnership between both the openers David Warner is showing his class since he returned to cricket after ball tampering case whereas Aaron Finch contributed well off 66 runs.

It was great Batting by overall Australian players especially David Warner who scored 89*.

With the loss of 3 wickets, Australia won the match in 34 over itself.
