Mumbai: One of the biggest tournament of International Cricket begins today, ICC World Cup where 10 teams will fight to lift the world champion trophy.

The first match played on 30th May where the host will take on South Africa. Both the teams will be looking to lift the cup for the first time ever.

Winning the toss South Africa decided to bowl first in Oval. South Africa opt to open the bowling with the wrist-spinner Imran Tahir, the number five ranked ODI bowler in the world. The first ball pushed through extra cover by Roy for a single, and the second taking the first wicket of the tournament.

With this wicket, South Africa showed that they will be dominating in Match, but it was pretty good 100 runs partnership between Joe Root 51 (59) and Jason Roy 54 (53).

But South Africa was back in the game and dismissed both the set batsman and sent them back to the pavilion.
Meanwhile, Eoln Morgan played a captain innings but failed to convert it into a big score as he lost his wicket to Imran Tahir scored 57 off 60 balls.

It was Ben Stokes who was back in form in the first match itself scored 89 runs off 79 deliveries by which England was managed to score 311 runs with the loss of 8 wickets in 50 Overs.

The South Africans fielded well, taking two very good catches in the deep – one for Markram and one for Faf du Plessis. Their bowling was decent if not remarkable, the pick of them probably Ngidi, who took 3/66.

Chasing the target of 312 South Africa started off well, but Archer continuing, bowling very close to the stumps, and a good shot from Amla, guiding it to the third man boundary for four. Archer’s response is to land one on him, and then a slower one is blocked back to him.

That was very nasty, a fantastic bouncer from Archer and it’s hit Amla smack on the helmet attempting a hook. Right on the grill.

SA opener Quinton De Kock was looking good he and seemed he will easily help his team to chase down the total but it was Liam Plunkett who dismissed him as de Kock looking to hit over backwards square leg for six and Root takes a comfortable catch on the boundary.

Even Alden Markram failed to contribute for his side, for South Africa middle order completely failed to score runs today, Faf du Plessis, Hashim Amla and JP Duminy showed poor batting performance.

England showed fabulous batting, bowling and fielding performance which made team to win the first match of ICC World Cup by 104 runs.

For England World Cup debutant Jofra Archer took 3 wickets followed by Ben Stokes provided 2 wickets it was a perfect all-around performance by him.
